Hi! I’m Jack

Jack Thibaut, game designer and programer for More Was Lost in Cuba

I’m from Valencia originally but currently live in Barcelona. More Was Lost in Cuba has been in the works for years but now I’ve decided to really gonna give it a shot.

I studied Marketing and Advertising at uni and did that for a few years while toying around with C#, Unity and RpgMaker in my spare time. The idea for More Was Lost in Cuba was actually born in 2014 but at the time I didn’t have the necessary skills, knowledge or experience to properly execute it. Eventually, I got pretty burned out of the whole corporate/start up/18-hour-day/cult-like environment and decided to do a full 180 and become a programmer.

Around 2017 I started working on JavaScript on backend programming. Since then I’ve worked with Haskell, Golang, C# and Python and done everything from frontend to infrastructure (and even some computer vision algorithms for good measure). At some point in 2021, I finally decided to give More Was Lost in Cuba a proper shot and started working on it on my spare time.

Video games have been my passion since I was a kid. I’ve always seen their potential as a medium and truly want to be a part of pushing it forward as an art form. That’s why I do this.

This project is pretty much a one-man show. I take care of marketing, community management, design, programming, customer service… I try to reply to emails & messages ASAP, but occasionally it might take me a bit longer. If I haven’t replied to you in a few days it (probably) doesn’t mean I’m ignoring you, I’ll get back to you eventually.
